BioLinda Myoki Lehrhaupt, Ph.D., born 1949 in New York, is the Founder and Director of the Institute for Mindfulness-Based Approaches, based in Germany. She began teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) in 1993 and is certified from the Center for Mindfulnesss (CFM) in Worcester, Mass. She holds an M.A. and PH.D. in Performance Studies from New York University, where she specialized in religious rituals and traditions. She has been teaching in adult education, both as a teacher, supervisor and trainer of teachers since 1983.

Dr. Lehrhaupt began practicing Zen meditation in 1979 and received transmission as a Zen teacher from Al Fusho Rapaport, Sensei, of Open Mind Zen in Melbourne, Florida. She is the guiding teacher of Zen Herz (Heart), an inter-European sangha of Zen practitioners.

She has been practicing Tai Chi and Chi Kung since 1978 and for twenty years directed teacher-training programs in both arts. She is the author of Riding the Waves of Life: Mindfulness and Inner Balance (in German, 2012), Tai Chi as a Path of Wisdom (Shambhala Publications, 2001), and Co-Author of MBSR:Reducing Stress through Mindfulness (in German, 2010).

Dr. Lehrhaupt has been living in Germany since 1983 with her husband Norbert Wehner, a landscape architect and artist. Since 1996 they have been renovating an 18th century farm in southwest France and hope to begin offering retreats and workshops there in Summer 2015.
